Hi. My name is Denise. I’m a recently separated woman in my 60’s, who’s lived many years of depression, and with no self-confidence or self-worth. Altho I may have put on a smile and not let anyone in on my little secrets, truth be told – the stress, the arguing, and the unhappiness was just killing me. So I finally took that big, scary “leap of faith” and just walked away from it all.
PAVING MY NEW PATH
And here I am 11 months later … employed, in a nice apartment, with a great support system of awesome family and friends, and Paving My Own Path to a better life.
It’s not been easy – the paths have led to many dead ends. There are days I feel like I’m making progress and moving forward. And other days I have regrets. You know how it goes … three steps forward, two steps back. But I have to keep reminding myself that I’m still one step ahead of where I used to be. So I’m doing OK.
With that being said, there are still so many things I would have done differently HAD I actually had a plan in place prior to driving off with some of my belongings in my truck. I would have had more than $500 in my pocket, would have secured a place to stay, would have talked with a lawyer, would have had a job lined up, would have known of all the government assistance available to me, and on and on.
That is why I made this website. It’s to provide all the tools needed to anyone who’s in an unhealthy relationship and help you get through the hardest decisions and the biggest transitions of your life. My goal is to hopefully make paving your new path a lot easier for you than it was for me !!
And as you can see, this is a website/blog in the making. I have hoards of documentation and information that will be very useful for anyone ready to take that leap of faith. But I still work 10-hour shifts five days a week, so it’s going to take some time to post everything I have. That is until I finally get to say goodbye to my job.
