Hi. My name is Denise and this is about me.  I’m a recently separated woman in my 60’s, who’s lived many years of depression, and with no self-confidence or self-worth.   Although I may have put on a smile and not let anyone in on my little secrets, truth be told – the stress, the arguing, and the unhappiness was just killing me.   So I finally took that big, scary “leap of faith” and just walked away from it all.

And here I am 3 years later … employed, in a nice apartment, with a great support system of awesome family and friends, and Paving My Own Path to a better life. 

It’s not been easy – the paths have led to many dead ends. There are days I feel like I’m making progress and moving forward. And other days I have regrets. You know how it goes … three steps forward, two steps back. But I have to keep reminding myself that I’m still one step ahead of where I used to be. So I’m doing OK.

And this is me today, dedicated to making changes in my life for a healthier lifestyle and hoping to inspire you to do the same.


As you may have guessed – I am a foodie and love everything about food. I have grown my own fruits, vegetables and herbs, made a lot of different recipes, I’ve blended my own beverages, canned and preserved foods, and much more.

I’m a big believer that good health starts from the inside out and taking care of your body as you age.  Being a woman over the age of 60, I know HEALTH, WELLNESS, AND FITNESS are an important part of our lives at this age. 


One of the ways I’ve found to address good health is by the beverages we drink – specifically smoothies, juices, and broths. Which brings me to this site – SMOOTHIOUS. Here I’ve made SMOOTHIES for specific concerns we have – dieting, detoxing, keeping our immune system strong, and more.

I’ve also included the SUPERFOODS that most of us don’t even consider using in our daily diets. And when you don’t incorporate these foods into your daily diet, you’re missing out on are all the essential nutrients and antioxidants that support skin health, promote a youthful complexion, and enhance overall beauty.

Remember – pairing a nutrient-rich diet with a healthy lifestyle, proper skincare, and hydration can help optimize your beauty from the inside out.
